The annual Perfect Open Championship was held in the newly open National Table Tennis Centre located inside The Starling Mall. The event was held from 2-4 February in conjunction of its very opening. This time, other than the usual Elite and Open Category, a new category (Under 12) was introduced to incorporate a mixture of younger talents. According to the organiser, more than 300 participants joined this event.

In the most lucrative Elite Men's Category, newly crowned national champion Leong Chee Feng met expectations winning over Choong Javen in the excitement filled finals event (4-2). Chee Feng went into the finals went he took over ex-national Chai Kian Beng with a score of 4-0. On the other hand, Javen had a tough game against two times national champion Muhd Ashraf. He won 4-2 after a great challenge from the opponent who fought back full force following a 1-3 deficit. Chee Feng was awarded cash prize of RM2,000 for winning the Elite Men's Category.
